Helen started her journey in Sports & Remedial Massage and Pilates in 2003 when she sustained a serious back injury. She embarked on a rehabilitation program using the Pilates method where she quickly became a convert.
In 2004 Helen subsequently left the corporate world after a successful career in Training and Development to qualify as a Sports and Remedial Massage Therapist and a Body Control Pilates teacher in Mat Work and the Reformer. She has since gone on to learn and acquire new skills and valuable techniques with the aim of helping the body restore itself back to its normal function after injury or chronic build up of tension as well as developing her Pilates skills on other pieces of equipment. She now has a successful practice treating individuals and teaching mat work classes.
Helen appreciates that one size doesn’t fit all and uses the skills she learnt in her corporate roles to really understand the needs of the client. With this information, she ensures that treatments are tailored to suit the needs of the client and are regularly reviewed as conditions improve. Her testimonials refer to her ability to identify the correct course of treatment and her persistence and ability when treating chronic problems.
Helen is successful as an independent practitioner but is part of a team of osteopaths, rehab specialists and other health professionals in our clinic, working together ensuring that the individual gets the right treatment for their needs.
Helen works on Mondays and Wednesdays.
